Quantile Statistical Data Analysis.
Abstract
This paper presents some reasons why theoretical and sample quantile functions would be routinely used by contemporary statistical data analysts. Quantile methods are introduced in the context of the exponential distribution as a fit to the historically important life table data of Graunt (1661).
