High-Molecular Compounds (Selected Articles).

Abstract

We know that salts of metals with variable valency ordinarily inhibit radical polymerization. However, when salts such as LiC1, MgC12, Znc12 and A1C13 are present, the polymerization rate of vinyl monomers with functional groups that form coordinated complexes with salt cations rises. The acceleration mechanism remains unknown. The purpose of this work is to study the mechanism of polymerization in the presence of inorganic complexing agents using the polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) as an example.
