A Study to Determine the Best Policy Concerning Release of Radiographs Outside the Department of Radiology at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas.

Abstract

This study examines a hospitals policies and procedures for the release of radiographs from the department of radiology to hospital personnel. The radiograph release policy is important because problems and conflicts that result from the policy have historically hindered physicians patient care practices. The author explains the current system, reviews other alternatives, list the advantages and disadvantages, then makes recommendations to improve the system.
