Abstract

The 11th U.S./Japan Meeting on Management of Bottom Sediments Containing Toxic Substances was held 4-6 November 1985 in Seattle, Washington. The meeting is held annually through an agreement with the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Japan Ministry of Transport to provide a forum for presentation of papers and in-depth discussions on dredging and disposal of contaminated sediment. Contents: Study on Improvement of the Marine Environment; Sedimentation and Effluent Concentration of Soft Clay on Reclamation; Evaluation of Dredging as a Remedial Technology for the Commencement Bay Superfund Site; Method for Estimation of Methylmercury Dissolved into Water from Dredged Material by Using the Marine Copepod; The Effects of Sediment on the Survival of Mysids Exposed to Organotins; Food Chain Studies at Times Beach Confined Dredged Material Disposal Site; Use of Anti-Turbidity Curtains at a Sand Compacted Piling area in Yokohama Harbour.
