Computed Stress and Strain Distributions Under Interference Fit and After Coldworking

Abstract

Stress and strain distributions are computed by finite element method for various levels of interference fit and for the unloaded, or coldworked condition. The assumed material properties represent a steel pin interacting with an aluminum alloy plate.
