Analysis of the Reliability of Royal Australian Air Force Non-Destructive Inspection.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to establish, via examination of the available literature, and appropriate means of quantifying the reliability of Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) as practiced by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) NDI technicians. Further, actual measurement of this NDI reliability was to be attempted and the correlation, if any, between the NDI technician's reported adn measured results and the actual flaw lengths was to be established.
