Reference Standards for Nondestructive Tests.

Abstract

Reference standards are the prime element of nondestructive tests. Standards contain the flaw or a simulated representation that is being sought, such as cracks, and these flaws are in a geometry that simulates the parts to be tested. This report emphasizes cracks in metal parts, how to calculate crack sizes, and how to simulate cracks in reference standards. Keywords: Reference standards, Nondestructive tests, Inspection, Flaws, Cracks, Defects.
