Water and Wastewater Treatment Inventory and the Perceptions of Wastewater Engineers on Considerations Affecting Treatment Alternatives.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compile an inventory of water and wastewater treatment methods for all CONUS Air Force installations and to determine the importance of the considerations affecting domestic wastewater treatment alternatives. This inventory provides the baseline data for managers to use in making future policy. Cost and pollution abatement tied for the most important important factors to consider when making an analysis of treatment alternatives. Location of the regional system ranked next in importance followed by a tie between the quantity of wastewater to be treated and the importance of the wastewater operator as a critical military skill. Keywords: Water treatment, Waste water, Waste treatment, Sewage treatment.
