Ticks of Medical Importance Occurring in the Western Hemisphere

Abstract

This publication, serving as a handbook for medical and pest control personnel, describes each tick species of medical importance occuring in the Western Hemisphere. Guidance for the identification of these species as well as discussions about the diseases they harbor and transmit are included. In addition, appropriate tick control measures and suggestions for proper tick removal from humans are presented.
