Improving Construction. The CII Recommendations,

Abstract

A decrease in construction industry productivity over the past 20 years led the Business Roundtable To establish the Construction Industry Cost Effectiveness (CICE) Project and the Construction Industry INstitute (CII) to address its problems and propose solutions to them. Many of their ideas have led to substantial cost savings. Some CICE and CII recommendations have general applicability to DoD. Although DoD is a member of CII and represented on numerous CII task forces, personnel at the field operating activities have little knowledge of the CICE or CII recommendations. We provide several recommendations designed to help DoD achieve maximum benefits from the CII study results and recommendations.
