Chemical Effects in Particulate Filtration. 1. The Size Range 0.1 - 0.3 Micrometers.

Abstract

Aerosols were prepared from sixteen materials, liquid and solid. These were used, over the size range 0.01-0.30 micrometers to challenge a standard filter paper. Penetration was nearly independent of the chemical nature of the aerosol in the size range 0.10-0.30 micrometer. Below of 0.10 micrometer, penetration varied widely from challenge to challenge.
