Air Quality Assessment Model (AQAM) Verification Analysis.

Abstract

During this reporting period, the contractor (RTI) upgraded the Air Quality Assessment Model, a computer model which assesses air base source emissions and predicts atmospheric dispersion of specific pollutants. The USAFOEHL acquired a VAX 11/780 computer and RTI adapted the model to run on it. The model was enhanced with a user-friendly operating interface and graphical output options. The verification studies find the AQAM System presently hosted on the USAFOEHL mainframe computer to be comparable to the previous AQAM System with minor differences. The computer outputs to this report will be maintained at the USAFOEHL Library on microfiche because they are lengthy and difficult to reproduce. AQAM is ready for worldwide use as a research or special application model with the software being maintained at USAFOEHL. Input data required to run the model will be coordinated with each individual base. Keywords: Air pollution; Dispersion modeling; Air emission inventory.
