Compression of Composite Materials: A Review,

Abstract

This paper is a literature review of research on the compressive response of fiber-reinforced composite laminates. Emphasis is on recent research with papers from 1980 to the present included. The review is organized by subject and the papers are included in one of three main groups; COMPRESSION TEST METHODS, FAILURE THEORIES AND FAILURE MECHANISMS AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS. Tables are presented that summarize the information included in the paper dealing with the evaluation of test methods and generation of experimental data. These tables provide an index for quick reference to the research discussed in this paper.
