Northeast Artificial Intelligence Consortium (NAIC) Administrative Matters and Ancillary Functions. Volume 1.

Abstract

The Northeast Artificial Intelligence Consortium (NAIC) was created by the USAF Electronic Systems Command, Rome Air Development Center, and the Office of Scientific Research. Its purpose is to conduct pertinent research in artificial intelligence, to encourage expansion in the number of faculty members and graduating students in this field, to make graduate educational programs available in an area centered in Rome, N.Y., and the expand university facilities to conduct appropriate research. The purpose of this report is to describe progress that has been made in the first year of the existence of the NAIC in developing and performing activities ancillary to the technical research tasks being carried out at NAIC member universities.
