Space-Variant Optical Systems.

Abstract

Analytical and experimental investigations of 1-D and 2-D space-variant optical processors have been conducted. Areas investigated have included: (1) measures of the degree of invariance of linear optical system; (2) a real-time holographic CCD recording technique for preserving phase information; (3) a fast, highly parallel architecture for optical multiplication; and (4) a complete analytical and experimental investigation of the bilinear transform and its applications. Keywords: Optical computing; Optical signal processing, Optical interconnection networks.
