The Interior Ballistics of Regenerative Liquid Propellant Guns

Abstract

Current interest in a regenerative liquid monopropellant gun in the United States is based on experimental test data in calibers from 25mm to 105mm. A summary of data from parametric test firings in 25mm fixtures is presented. Recent results obtained in a 105-mm regenerative test fixture of a more advanced design are also presented. A description of interior ballistic models used in the United States is provided, along with comparisons of experimental data and computer simulations.
