Abstract
This report describes the author's experiences at the Twenty-First Congress, International Association for Hydraulic Research (IAHR), in Melbourne, Australia, 19-23 August 1985. The author reports on the Congress and the post-Congress tours to sites of scientific interest in Australia, New Zealand, and Tahiti. The purpose of his mission was to obtain state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of hydraulics on a worldwide basis for application by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
