Safety Evaluation of the NC-106 Multi-Order Gradient, Noise-Cancelling Microphone,

Abstract

The Naval Electronics System Command requested that the Naval Surface Weapons Center, White Oak (NSWC/WO), perform a safety evaluation of the NC-106 Multi-Order Gradient, Noise-Cancelling Microphone in order to obtain approval for use within the Navy. The gradient microphone contains one Panasonic lithium poly-carbomonofluoride BR-1/2A cell and was tested by NSWC/WO under a regime set forth by NAVSEA INSTRUCTION 9310.1A. The methods and results of NAVSEA INSTRUCTION 9310.1A testing are given in this report. Keywords: Lithium, Panasonic BR-12/A cell, Poly carbonmonofluoride, Multi-Order gradient, Noise-Cancelling microphone.
