Definite Project Report for Section 14. Emergency Streambank Protection, Sangamon River Sewage Treatment Facility, Riverton, Illinois. Revision.

Abstract

This report addresses the problem of streambank erosion at the junction of Sangamon Creek and the Sangamon River, at the village of Riverton, Illinois, Sewage Treatment Facility. The erosion is seriously affecting the streambank in the area of th effluent discharge outfall. The proposal for emergency streambank protection presented in this report recommends channel relocation along with placement of riprap along approximately 230 linear feet of the left descending bank and along 60 linear feet of the right descending bank of Sangamon Creek, including portions of the right descending bank of the Sangamon River. The total estimated cost for the project is $57,100, with a benefit-to-cost ratio of 2.5. The project satisfies the criteria for Federal participation and is recommended for construction.
