The Railgun and Its Power Source,

Abstract

Investigations into the propulsion mechanisms of railguns and into the power source requirements of railguns are reported. Power sources based upon rotating machines, capacitors and explosives are reviewed and a new method based upon batteries and pulse transformers is identified.
