Weather Radar Studies.

Abstract

The FAA-Lincoln Laboratory FL-2 Weather Radar test bed continues to gather experimental data in the Huntsville, Alabama area. The activities concerning the test bed and other associated meteorological sensors are reported here for the period 1 April through 30 September 1986. Results are included on the continuation of data reduction and analysis from Boston (1983), Memphis(1985), and Huntsville(1986), operations. This report addresses the first results of the automated microburst and gust front detection algorithms along with development progress on storm-tracking and turbulence detection algorithms.
