Proceedings of the Air Force Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Applications for Integrated Diagnostics Held in Boulder, Colorado on 29-31 July 1986,
Abstract
The workshop was organized as follows: several introductory talks set the stage vis-a-vis Integrated Diagnostics; three hour long talks established the state-of-the-art in AI research in diagnostic; and, over a dozen shorter talks presented current applications efforts in AI-ID. Following all this, three panels examined the field from the perspectives of requirements, needed research, and applications opportunities. A summary panel closed the workshop. This proceeding includes the papers presented at the workshop and is organized into five major sections. Part I includes the introductory talks which establish the problem and describe current Air Force and Department of Defense initiatives in this area. Part II presents contributed material form the panelists. It begins with a transcript of the summary of the panels' findings. Part III contains the papers presented on state-of-the-art research in AI diagnostics. Part IV contains the papers presented on current AI/ID applications projects. Part V contains papers submitted by workshop participants. While these latter papers were not a part of the workshop program, they were solicited from workshop participants for inclusion in the proceedings. Keywords: Artificial intelligence; Integrated diagnostics; Built in test; Support systems; Diagnostic design.
