Converting the In-Flight Fund (IFF): A Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentality.

Abstract

The In-flight Fund of the 89th Military Airlift Wing is a unique organization that provides a valuable service to some of the most important officials of the government. At present, this non-appropriated fund instrumentality does not employ a computer to transact accounting, data processing, or reporting in its normal operation. This study takes an in-depth look at current and future requirements and objectives of the IFF and applies the results to available computer equipment. The project attempts to point out smart choices as well as potential problem areas in choosing the right equipment. The final chapter provides several options in funding the purchase of equipment in making the transition to computers.
