Missions and Mobility Configurations for RED HORSE

Abstract

RED HORSE squadrons have faced role identification and mobility difficulties since their return Vietnam. This research reviews the historic factors and current thought affecting the RED HORSE mission to formulate an operational doctrine. This operational doctrine is used to develop a mobility configuration which is responsive to the missions of RED HORSE from theater warfare to contingency response. The study concludes that a dual mobility structure based on equipment prepositioning is necessary. Keywords: Prime BEEF(Base Engineer Emergency Force), Air Force facilities.
