Development of An Ultra-Fast-Curing Wound Dressing

Abstract

We are developing a drug dispensing field wound dressing. The wound dressing, which can be easily applied by an untrained person, contains a coagulant to stop bleeding, and an antibiotic to prevent bacterial infection. The medicated wound dressing is made of an ultra fast curing polyurethane oligomer which is designed to cure at room temperature and delivers drugs on a controlled, sustained and highly reproducible basis. Keywords: Controlled release, Sustained release.
