Vibrational Spectra of Double Helical Molecules with C2 Symmetry.

Abstract

The existence of an additional symmetry element alllows one to reduce the size matrix needed to calculate the vibrational normal modes. In this paper we detail how to reduce the matrix appropriate to an alternating DNA polymer which has a C2 symmetry about the x-axis.
