Neurological Consequences of Acute and Chronic Cholinergic Blockage.

Abstract

Various selective and nonselective M1 and M2 cholinergic antagonists have been studied for their presynaptic effects on 3H-acetylcholine release from the rat brain hippocampal slice preparation. Marked differences in potency and efficacy were observed that have direct implications with regard to the treatment of organophosphate poisoning. Keywords: Antidotes.
