Acoustical Analysis of a Test Horn.

Abstract

The natural frequencies and mode shapes for three models of a small test horn are determined using the 3-D acoustic finite element computer program COMIC (COMplex AcoustIC Pressure Analysis). The mode shapes are presented graphically and nodal planes are identified. Placing a wall of blocks and a missile inside the model does not make any significant change in natural frequencies, although the nodal planes have moved in the direction of the added elements. Keywords: Finite elements; Acoustic horn.
