Artificial Intelligence Software Acquisition Program. Volume 2.

Abstract

This research evaluated the software development process for artificial intelligence (AI) systems and postulate a software acquisition model. The major elements performed were a literature search, a case study analysis of 26 knowledge based system (KBS) development efforts, and consultation with experienced AI system developers. This volume discusses a KBS process model and customer/developer interface model. A comparison of the postulated model with DOD-STD-2167 and DOD-STD-2167A (draft) is made in terms of activities, products, reviews and baselines. Keywords: Artificial intelligence; Software development process; Software acquisition model; Knowledge based system; Documentation standards.
