Feasibility Study of a Microprocessor Controlled Actuator Test Mechanism.
Abstract
This thesis describes the investigation of the feasibility of using a commercially available microcomputer to control and test a missile fin actuator. Topics discussed include system modelling, automated data acquisition, system identification, simulation and controller design. Modularity, both functional and conceptual, is stresses in the design process as well as integration of modules during the modelling and simulation process. Verification of the computer simulation is used extensively as an interactive tool to modify the system model. The Hybrid system under investigation contains analog and discrete components some of which are both nonlinear and discontinuous. The use of digital systems, their limitations and advantages are highlighted in the modelling of these components and the development of a control system (Author)
