Acoustooptic Processing of Two Dimensional Signals Using Temporal and Spatial Integration.

Abstract

The goal of this project is the development of optical signal processing architectures and techniques that are suitable for processing information in two dimensions. We have applied our methods to synthetic aperture radar (SAR), image recognition, two dimensional spectrum analysis of one dimensional signals and adaptive phased arrays. In previous years we have developed several specific acoustooptic architecture in each category. In this report we describe our recent results in the areas of radar imaging, image correlation, and integrated optical signal processing.
