Abstract

This paper documents the initial development of a 16-contact hour elective in artificial intelligence (AI). Demonstrates the need for the elective by examining planned DoD uses of AI. Follows the instructional systems development (ISD) process. Examines military, commercial, and academic sources on AI research and use. Presents recommended level of learning objectives, samples of behavior, and an annotated bibliography for each of six recommended lesson blocks. Includes recommendations for further course development by ACSC.
