Dimensions of Job Performance

Abstract

This report describes and applies a method of determining the dimensions that make up the performance of work throughout the Navy's enlisted ratings and grades. The dimensions of work performance are defined within a hierarchy from micro to macro and the relationships between such dimensions and input variables such as ability, experience, and motivation are described. Key inclusions and omissions from current research within DoD on the prediction of job performance are identified.
