Source Region Electromagnetic Effects Phenomena. Volume 5. Analytic Solutions for SREMP (Source Region Electromagnetic Pulse) Environments

Abstract

Three-dimensional integral equations and integral solutions were derived for the fields generated by a Compton current distribution with arbitrary time and space variations in the presence of conducting air and ground with arbitrary time variations in conductivity. Here they are solved analytically for a number of important SREMP cases which include (1) arbitrary three-dimensional currents in the presence of infinitely conductive ground, (2) equal air and ground conductivities, and (3) arbitrary one-dimensional (height- dependent) currents when the ground conductivity is a constant multiple of the (time-dependent) air conductivity. Particular realistic forms for the Compton current are used to explicitly evaluate the solutions to find the SREMP fields produced by them. Keywords: Source region electromagnetic pulse.
