The Assignment of Knowledge Test Items to Functional and Cognitive Categories

Abstract

The research described in this note was conducted as part of Task 3 of Project A: Improving the Selection, Classification, and Utilization of Army Enlisted Personnel. Task 3 is specifically concerned with the development of training performance tests. This report describes the procedures used for assigning test items to functional and cognitive categories as a means of determining the part of the criterion space occupied by the test items.
