Defense and Development in Sub-Saharan Africa: Database.

Abstract

This note presents the Defense and Development in Sub-Saharan Africa database, a collection of statistics from various sources, chiefly the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. The statistics in the database cover 41 African countries for the years 1970-1985 and fall under ten main headings: debt; price indexes; income; military expenditures; foreign military presence; government expenditures; national accounts; development assistance; social/political indicators; and weather.
