Noncontact Photo-Thermal Sensing.

Abstract

This Final Report summarizes the research efforts and achievements of the research program which was concerned with the development of noncontact photo-thermal sensing techniques, useful for chemical and physical identification of distant samples. The goals of our research efforts include the exploration of various chemical and physical applications of noncontact photo-thermal sensing, understanding the basic physics and applications of pulsed photo-thermal and photo-acoustic generation, and the understanding of the capabilities of a typical photo-thermal LIDAR(Light Detection And Ranging).
