The Design and Implementation of a Health Screening Clinic.

Abstract

The problem is to determine whether an efficient, effective, economical means can be achieved to provide a substitute for routine, periodic physical examination-type services for asymptomatic armed services retires and dependents (over the age of 14) at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Such services, although authorized by Army Regulation, have not been available to such persons at BAMC because of a shortage of personnel resources to provide the traditional type of routine, periodic physical examination. Although physical examinations are provided for those who enter the BAMC health care system because of symptomatic disorders, there is no vehicle to achieve patient satisfaction of those 'worried well' who' just want to know if everything is O.K.'
