A Patient Education Center in the U.S. Army Community Hospital, Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the possible alternatives for implementation of a patient education center in the new facility and to determine which of the alternatives considered would be the best method for that implementation. With the primary objective of the patient education coordinator and the CHEP being to establish an operating patient education center in the current facility, minimal efforts have been directed toward the integration and the coordination of patient education and a patient education center in the new facility. This study was prompted by the recognized need to insure that effort to institute a patient education center in the current facility would be compatible with any future efforts to establish a patient education center in the new facility.
