Stabilization of Quantum Size CdSe Clusters in Zeolite-Y EXAFS and X-Ray Diffraction Studies
Abstract
Small (<15A) CdSe clusters have been synthesized within the cage system of zeolite-Y. Cluster size and connectivity patterns are controlled by cadmium ion concentration, selenium source and residual water. Analysis of Cd-edge EXAFS and power synchrotron X-ray diffraction data, in addition to model calculations reveal the presence of Cd4(O, Se)4 cubes within the sodalite units of the zeolite structure. Cadmium selenides.
