Evaluation of Multi-Focus Holographic Lenses

Abstract

The properties of two, 7x7 dichromated gelatin hololenses were measured and compared with the specifications under which they were procured. The intended use for these lenses is a coherent optical correlator. The 49 memory locations would exceed the previously achieved 25 locations and expand the usefulness of the correlator. Several preliminary hololenses were also evaluated which had been made from a new photopolymer from Polaroid, designated DMP-128. Results obtained include the overall diffraction efficiency and the uniformity of the arrays.
