Fabricate, Calibrate and Test a Dosimeter for Integration into the CRRES (Combined Release and Radiation Effects Satellite) Satellite
Abstract
A Space Radiation Dosimeter has been fabricated, calibrated, tested, and has undergone successful integration testing in the CRRES spacecraft. This Dosimeter is essentially identical to that previously designed, fabricated, calibrated, tested and integrated into the DMSP F7 satellite. These dosimeters are primarily designed to measure the dose from electrons of greater than 1 MeV to greater than 10 MeV in four channels. Each channel has a different thickness aluminum dome. Keywords: Dosimeter, Electron dose, Proton dose, Space radiation, Particle fluxes, Nuclear stars, Space radiation dosimeter, CRR Spacecraft.
