Grafting of Living Polymers from Activated Polysilanes

Abstract

Polysilanes with pendant triflate groups which were prepared by the dearylation process were used as backbones for preparation comblike graft copolymers. Two systems are described: grafting polytetrahydrofuran from polysilanes and group transfer polymerization of methylmethacrylate initiated by silyl ketene acetals coupled to polysilane backbone. Keywords: Polysilanes, Graft copolymers, Silanes.
