Abstract

This study describes the Living Expert System (LEXSYS). It cites potential uses of LEXSYS and addresses the advantages and limitations of the system. LEXSYS is a decision support system designed to augment an organization's decision making capability. LEXSYS utilizes the advantages of computer teleconferencing to maximize resources by providing a broad base of expertise to study important issues. Information was gathered using a review of literature and through active computer teleconferencing discussions by key military and civilian participants. A strong case was made for implementation of an Army Living Expert System. Keywords: Prototypes; Systems engineering.
