Installation Restoration Program. Preliminary Assessment for 122nd Tactical Fighter Wing, Indiana Air National Guard, Fort Wayne Municipal Airport, Fort Wayne Indiana

Abstract

The purpose of this Preliminary Assessment is to identify and evaluate suspected problems associated with past hazardous waste handling procedures, disposal sites, and spill sites on the Base. Personnel from the Hazardous Materials Technical Center (HMTC) visited the Base, reviewed existing environmental information, analyzed the Base records concerning the use and generation of hazardous material/hazardous waste (HM/HW), and conducted interviews with Base personnel who are familiar with past and present HM/HW management activities. The scope of this Preliminary Assessment is limited to the Base and includes: An onsite visit; The acquisition of pertinent information and records on hazardous materials use and hazardous wastes generation and disposal practices at the Base; The acquisition of available geologic, hydrologic, meteorologic, land use and zoning, critical habitat, and utility data from various Federal, State, and local agencies.
