Optimal Fix Estimators and a Variation on the Cramer Rao Lower Bound

Abstract

The fix estimators which MARC (Mathematical Analysis Research Corporation) has examined in fielded systems have a property which implies that these fix estimators approach optimality. Explaining the meaning of this statement and the qualifications that go with it is the purpose of the main body of this report. Contents: 1) Optimal Estimators in Statistics; 2) Fix Modeling Assumptions; 3) Problems with Fix Modeling Assumptions; 4) Optimality to within Terms of Order. Keywords: Bias, Variance, Normal distribution, Linearity.
