A Tutorial on APL2

Abstract

APL2 is an advanced APL language processor which is essentially a superset of the older VSAPL processor, both available on the NPS mainframe computer. Practically all of the commands and functions in VSAPL perform exactly the same way in APL2 and several new features that enhance the programming and data processing capabilities are included in APL2. Both VSAPL and APL2 will continue to be available to the user. The aim of this report is to provide a short tutorial on the new features in APL2; the reader is assumed to be familiar with the APL language and the VSAPL processor.
