Dermal Sensitization Potential of Guanidine Nitrate in Guinea Pigs

Abstract

Guanidine nitrate, an intermediate product in the synthesis of the triple-base propellant component, nitroguanidine, was evaluated for its potential to produce dermal sensitization in male guinea pigs. The Buehler test, which utilizes repeated closed patch inductions with the test compound, was used for this evaluation. No evidence of guanidine nitrate-induced sensitization was obtained in ths study.
