Application of Modular Building Block Databus to Air Force Systems

Abstract

Modular Building Block is a packaging concept for U.S. Government Systems that have shelterized implementations. In this final report of an investigation of its application to Air Force Systems, a brief description of the databus of Modular Building Block is presented along with a summary of the Modular Control Equipment, a current Air Force shelterized system development. A discussion is then presented on the applicability of Modular Building Block to Air Force Systems. While no suggestion of revising the Modular Control Equipment is made, application to future systems is proposed. Keywords: Modular building block, C3, Command and Control systems, Secure communications, Portable shelters.
