Program Documentation of the Plant Job Scheduling Model System

Abstract

The PJSM system was developed at the request of the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army (VCSA) for use by AMCCOM and higher headquarters elements to provide an automated approach to ammunition planning, programming and budgeting, an analytical tool for decision making, and documentation of the POM and budget. This system consists of two models, a database and generators for data screens, graphics, and reports. The Ammunition Scheduling Model is used to make initial computer runs and the Post Processor Model for subsequent what if evaluations. Accessing the programs for model runs and the input and output of data is done with a menu system designed to be user friendly for the functional users. Documentation of the PJSM system was a prerequisite to its transition from the developer (Systems Analysis Office) to the Ammunition Program Management Office for functional control and the Information Management Directorate for program maintenance.
